OUR KILLER: HOW WE DID IT
Make up
We only used make up for one character. We used make up on Alex Tatham to distinguish him as the killer in our shots. We did this by applying white face paint to his face, this made him seem pale and lifeless. Then we added black face paint around his eyes to give the impression the audience that he's evil. In the clip below you can see how we did Alex Tatham's make up.
In some of the shots we used fake blood. We made this by mixing red dye, cocoa powder and water together. We used this fake blood in the scene when Ricky Griffiths is hung. This showed the audience that he is dead. It was also used when Ricky Griffiths pricked his finger on the door. The blood indicated to the audience that he is going to die.
At the end of our horror opening sequences Hannah Ford's hand drops into a pool of blood. This shows that she has been killed without actually seeing the murder. Murders are very hard to act out, therefore this will give a more realistic feel to the ending of the opening sequence.
